The protection of personal data has high priority at ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen e.V.). The type of personal data ifa collects and processes and the methods we use to do this as well as your rights to view, correct and delete your personal data are all based on the latest version of the German Data Protection Act (BDSG).
Collection of personal data
Data are automatically collected when you visit the website for our online application process (e.g. IP address, data, time, etc.). These data are collected for security reasons and help us improve our offer. We also collect personal information you enter for the application process.
Viewing, correcting and deleting your personal data
You have the right to revoke your permission to store your data at any time with effect for the future as well as to have any data provided by you for the purposes of the online application process blocked or deleted. You also have the right to correct any inaccurate information.
Use of your personal data
ifa will only collect, process and use the personal data you provide us with within the scope of the online application process in order to process your application and, if we decide to approve your application, within the context of any future employment or scholarship funding.
We will neither publish your data nor pass your data on to third parties without your permission. Only people involved in the recruiting process and authorised ifa personnel shall have access to your personal data. The institute’s legal obligations regarding the processing and transfer of personal data shall remain hereby unaffected.
If your application is not accepted, we shall store your personal data up to six months after the recruiting process and then delete your data.
Accuracy of your information
Information provided regarding your personal data must be truthful, accurate and current and may not be incomplete, misleading or deceptive. Failure to comply with the above could result in your exclusion from the application process.
Protection of your personal data
ifa has outsourced activities involved in the online application process to service providers. These service providers are under contractual obligation to only use the data made available to them within the scope of their assigned activities and not for any other purposes, particularly not for purposes of their own.
ifa has put technical and organisational security measures in place to protect any of your personal data managed by us from coincidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction, unauthorised access or unauthorised disclosure to third parties. Our security measures are regularly reviewed and improved upon in line with the latest technological developments and organisational feasibility.
We reserve the right to modify our security and data protection measures as required based on the latest technology. In such case we will also modify our data privacy statement accordingly. Please be sure to refer to the latest version of our data privacy statement.
